No, don't worry about the length, that's good stuff. I can't wait to do more Ulduar. It's great when you're stoked about something, isn't it?

Barricade is such a gorgeous shield. Killing Malygos would be the best thing, the shield would be the cherry on top. :)

Yeah, I agree, Kologarn is tons easier than Ignis. I don't understand why Ignis is so rough, considering his placement in the Siege area. At least he's optional.

Hi Kadomi, I find Kologarn easier than Ignis. I'm a DK tank, and MT his body while the other tank stands ready for the rumbler spawns. We only do 10-mans.

I agree about moving up to Ulduar sooner than later. The fights are more complex, but you don't need LOADS better gear to get through it.

My 10 man group has cleared Ulduar, and I've tanked many bosses in there. Our group doesn't have a clear MT; me and my paladin friend switch tank duties as we see fit or as the encounter calls for it. I've tanked the majority of the boss fights, so I'll offer up a few observations.

Ignis and Razorscale are pretty straightforward. The iron Cuuncil is a lot of fun to me, because it's my job to hold stormcaller and runemaster while the group burns down Steelbreaker. I normally get a nice threat lead on runemaster then focus on stormcaller, letting my cleaves, TCs, and SWs keep runemaster's attention. I love a boss you can stun, so much fun.

I MT Auriaya because of my superior fear immunity in Beserker Rage. Makes me feel pretty good to see everyone else running away while I stand and tank her. I delay my shield bash on sentinel blast for just a moment to give the healers time to lose the fear so Auriaya doesn't get any free hits in.

On the keepers, I've never tanked Hodir, I let the paladin handle that. I MT Freya, and that is probably the most fun I have tanking in Ulduar. She hits laughably soft for a boss, so I drag her all around the place when the trees pop so I can dps them down. The trees are pretty wimpy, so I can get them down without help if I can get to them quickly. I try to help with the detonating lashers; when they first pop out, I'll hit them with a shockwave to stun them.

Thorim has me in the tunnel taking down the two bosses to get him down into the arena. Being able to get to the acolytes quickly with charge/intercept, or silencing them with heroic throw makes getting through the tunnel quickly a breeze. I usually start the tanking rotation when he first drops down into the arena, and from there, it's an easy tank and spank. I usually use mocking blow right after I taunt so that I can have a little more of a window to build some solid threat after an Unbalancing Strike.

Ah Mimiron. A fun fight, one of the best in Ulduar IMHO. I tank him in phase 1 and 4, because charge and intercept are awesome to keep him in the center after a Shock Blast. Shield Wall used to be a must for dealing with Plasma Blast, but I think the nerf will nullify the necessity of using it. Back before they fixed his shock blast and P3Wx2 barrage in phase 4, it was unavoidable that their CDs would stack and he'd use them both at the same time. My job was to hold him when he did that so he wouldn't be jostling around and feed everyone hot laser death. I had to Shield Wall and Last Stand to live through it, and I would usually die after that, because I'd have a measly 1k HP left. That was fun. :D

Rest of the fights I DPS. Wow, I'm taking up your valuable blog space, sorry. ^^; Hope my observations help you out; good luck with Malygos, hope to see you with a Barricade next week.

You know thats why I love your blog so much. You are consistently positive, and resist the urge to go to a more negative place. I agree, Ulduar is a blast, and I want as many people as possible to enjoy it. Good luck with malygos this w/e. Still one of my favorite encounters, because the guy is such a trippy space cadet.
